Waking up early is the sh*t

You know when you get recommended the most RANDOM videos on YouTube? Back in August I watched Santiago Weppler’s “waking up early is the sh*t” and I’ll forever remember this excerpt:

When you wake up early, you are putting yourself first.

You don’t have a boss who doesn’t give a sh*t about you telling you to check your email.

You don’t have friends texting you asking you for favors.

You have yourself, the birds chirping, a nice breakfast, the sunrise, and most importantly, you have time.

Because you are the prize.

Ever since I watched this video, I’ve been committed to waking up early. I’ll usually wake up, eat some grapes, sip an espresso, open my blind and let the sun hit my face.

It’s peaceful. And isn’t that what most of us want in the end? Peace?

Putting yourself first while running your business

I’m able to live full-time off of making videos, but it definitely wasn’t always like this.

I’m fortunate to be in a position where I have enough clients to support myself.

I stress, however, about losing clients or when deals don’t go through with potential new clients.

I’ve learned to switch my mentality.

Instead of letting the clients be my source of self-worth, it’s me who decides my own fate.

I’m the one who makes videos. I’m the storyteller. I’m the hero to my own story.

And once I started thinking this way, money no longer was an issue.

I no longer hesitate to post my videos, because I know that by showing my work to the world, people who are the right fit for me will reach out to me.

Now I have people reaching out to me every single week to make videos.

Yes, the money is cool. But I don’t make videos for the money. I make videos because I love doing it, and money is just a by-product.

Put yourself first while running your business, and the money will follow. You are the prize.
