When I became a man, I put away childish things
Why YAPPING about your goals is bad for you
You just gotta own it
There’s a French phrase that I use a lot
When you say something stupid, or make a bold decision, and there are consequences to that decision, we say “il faut assumer” which vaguely translates you “you just gotta own it”
I was in a group chat with a bunch of consultants, and if you’ve been following my videos and my newsletter, you would know that I am NOT their biggest fan and poke fun at them in my videos
I made a sarcastic joke that “don’t worry, let’s just send this problem to a bunch of McKinsey consultants and they’ll figure it out because they’re the smartest people in the world 🔥🔥🔥” (the fire emojis just added was the cherry on top)
Someone from the group messaged me privately telling me to calm down with the jokes
I told him that “don’t worry it’s all fun and games, but I thought my joke was funny, and je vais l’assumer, I will accept the consequences”

I reached 2000 followers this week :)
Owning your goals without YAPPING about it
I wanna be one of the greatest content creators in the world
Just by me saying that, you assume things
“Wow, that’s amazing. So you must be on top of your sh*t, posting every single day, devoting all of your waking hours to making videos”
That’s far from the truth. I’m a human. I like to have fun. I exercise. I sleep. I eat healthy. I see my friends and family
But by YAPPING, your perception of me is altered, and I didn’t even show you any real action
That is the danger of yapping about your goals
Because now, in a year if you don’t hear from me and I do nothing, and you check on my progress, you’ll wonder… “wait, Michael, you said you wanted to be the best…. what the f*ck happened?”
I YAPPED instead of TAKING ACTION
If I’m gonna talk the talk, I need to own it
So isn’t it just better to walk the walk without talking the talk, and avoid all the unnecessary expectations that other people subconsciously put onto you?
Talk about your goals selectively and only if you want those people to hold you accountable.
Not if you’re just trying to brag
So yes, I want to be one of the best content creators in the world
But that talk is meaningless if I don’t follow through
Ciao guys; new video out today, and tomorrow, and the day after… :)
